King Solomon Awards

Sunday December 2, 2012 was an evening of awards as King Solomon Grand Lodge held their annual awards banquet. It was a beautiful celebration in the holiday colors of red & white. Congratulations to all the award recipients.

50 years

 Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hayes celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Mr. G's on Friday November 23, 2012. We wish them many more blessed years together. Congratulations!

CAC Scholarship Awards

On Saturday October 20, 2012 Mr. G's was the host venue for the Chicago Arkansas Connection's 1st annual scholarship awards banquet. The event was a success with a large attendance of locals as well as Arkansas natives. Both banquet rooms were used for the event starting with cocktails and hor deorves at 5pm, dinner at 6pm followed by awards & presentations. The entertainmentfor the evening was Mr. Jo Jo Murray.

Zumba !!!

It's Time for ZUMBA!!!

Zumba is the new "hot" workout for 2012. It incorporates high energy, fast paced routines with energetic music usually of a latin background creating a high calorie burn and intense workout.
Zumba instructor Terra Murray hosts her 90 minute zumbalicious workout class at Mr. G's every few months, Her latest class at Mr. G's was Thursday October 18th in support of Breast Cancer awareness month. Participants wore the color pink in support as well as members from UIC came with literaure and videos concerning the current breast cancer epidemic. Mr. G's general manager Melanee Hawkins has even joined the class and loves the workout.

The Beamon's

As wedding season comes to a close, we would like to wish our congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Beamon who celebrated their special day with us Saturday September 29, 2012. The Beamon's colors for the day were yellow & white and their theme was the Love birds.

15 Years Later

Mr. G's would like to congratulate Mr. & Mrs Harbaugh on their 15 years of marriage. The Harbarbaugh's celebrated their anniversary in a big way on Saturday September 8, 2012. We wish them many years to come. Congrats. 

Club Owners United Banquet

Club Owners United consists of the owners of several popular black owned clubs in Chicago. Every year Club Owners United gives back to the community by presenting deserving youth with scholarships to help them with their college education.
This years scholarship banquet was held at Mr. G's Sunday August 19, 2012 an was a huge success. Take a look at some pictures from the event:

Mr. G's wishes Mr & Mrs Coney our deepest Congratulations as they held their wedding reception with us this past Friday August 17, 2012. Sharnice Coney was one of my favorite brides of 2012. She incorporated a first for us here at Mr. G's, The Coney's arrived at Mr. G's in a horse and carriage.

Line Dancing!!!

Line dancing also known as "Slides" became popular in our community years ago when Casper came out with the "Casper Slide". Ever since new line dances have been created for almost every popular song and for every age. 

Dr. Loretta Martin has hosted her weekly classes at Mr. G's since our reopening in 2007 and she doesn't look like she has any plans of stopping. The popularity of her classes grows with each week in which the proceeds benefit the Hall-Martin Scholarship Fund.
